Vocal Fold Injections and Laser

  • Augmentation injections

A synthetic material similar to what is used in aesthetic procedures is used to increase the volume of the vocal cord. This leads to a stronger, clearer voice, and improved swallowing.

Augmentation injections are performed in the office under local anesthesia.

Patients with vocal cord paralysis, previous vocal cord surgery, aging vocal cords, vocal cord damage or scarring can benefit from this procedure.

  • PRP injections

A blood sample is taken from the patient and is treated to extract the platelet cells and plasma. This mixture is then used for the injection into the vocal fold.

Plasma rich with platelets cells are known to improve healing and promote regeneration of the tissues where they are injected.

This procedure is performed in the office under local anesthesia.

Patients with vocal damage from previous vocal cord surgery or trauma, aging or scarred vocal cords can benefit from this procedure.

  • KTP Laser procedures

KTP laser uses a green light to deliver energy to treat various types of lesions on the vocal cords and in the larynx.

This procedure is performed in the office under local anesthesia.

Patients with small throat cancers, papillomas, vascular anomalies, cysts, polyps and other benign tumours of the vocal cords can benefit from this procedure.
